Update: 2017-02-20 12:51 GMT
Theatrical Rights of 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' were bought for sky-high prices. As the film didn't meet the expectations, All the Distributors incurred crores of losses. Producers promised compensation in the form of 'Katamarayudu' Satellite Rights. However, A new Distributors now complains this promise was fulfilled by Producer Sharrath Marar and Pawan's Manager Sreenivas.

Reportedly, Sampath Kumar acquired 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' Krishna district rights for Rs 4.5 crore. He paid Rs 4.38 crore prior to the release. In the full run, This Cop Drama recovered only Rs 2.52 crore Share and hence a loss to the tune of Rs 1.8 crore has been incurred by the Distributor.

Today, Sampath Kumar called for a press conference and leveled serious allegations against the Producers. 'I am a fan of Pawan Kalyan. Obtained the distribution rights of Sardaar just because its PK's movie without even going through the document. I was promised that the loss incurred by me will be compensated with Katamarayudu. Even Executive Producer Sreenivas asked Me to meet him in February 1st Week. However, My calls went unanswered and there were no replies for the messages as well. They now ask me to contact Eros which co-produced 'SGS' one year after the release. I was even denied appointment of Pawan Sir. People around him are using PK to make profits. We sought the intervention of Film Chamber. Then, Sreenivas threatened us with dire consequences. Rs 2 crore isn't a small amount. Anyone in my position would have committed suicide. Nizam Distributor lost Rs 8 crore due to SGS. Producer informed him Today morning that Katamarayudu rights can't be given to him. In Telugu States, Katamarayudu Distribution Rights were given for 5 Distributors of SGS (East, West, Guntur, Uttar Andhra, Ceeded). What about Disributors Nizam, Krishna, Nellore & Overseas?'.
