Sarileru Neekevvaru is the new movie of Mahesh Babu releasing for Sankranthi 2020. The movie is giving homage to Okkadu that made Mahesh Babu, a star releasing for 2003 Sankranthi.
Okkadu will be 17 years old by then. The star of both the films, Mahesh is shooting at Kondareddy Buruju for SN but this time it has been recreated.
An important sequence and few scenes need Kondareddy Buruju backdrop in the film and hence, makers erected a set recreating the road and buruju (palace), at Ramoji Film City.
Director Anil Ravipudi shared the image of Mahesh Babu shooting at the set on Twitter, with this quote,
"16 years ago, this location became iconic on the silver screen.This time we aim to make it bigger. Our production designer A.S prakash garu recreated the location spectacularly.The man who brought Kurnool Kondareddy Buruzu to Ramoji FilmCity. Revealing this on this auspicious day"
It is interesting to note that for Okkadu, MS Raju producer of the film erected Charminar set and now, for Sarileru Neekevvaru, Kondareddy Buruju center is re-created as a set, which became an iconic location for an iconic scene from Okkadu. Looks like Mahesh has come a full circle!
