Sc Grants Interim Bail For Gehana Vasisth In Adult Film Row

Controversial actress Gehana Vasisth got a major sigh of relief from the alleged filming and publishing adult film racket with the Supreme Court granting interim bail for the actress. The Apex Court also gave protection to the actress from an arrest.’

However, bail was granted for the actress on the condition that the actress should cooperate with the officials during the investigation. The Court also said that the actress cannot be arrested.

The Apex Court heard the petition filed by the actress through an advocate. During the arguments, the advocate representing the actress told the court that the accused in the case Raj Kundra and his close aide were given bail and were released from the prison accordingly.

Gehana had knocked on the doors of the Apex Court to seek directives to get bail after the Bombay High Court had refused to grant her bail in this regard. The actress had welcomed the orders and said she will be reaching the Police Station on Thursday to record her statement.

She took to Instagram to announce the news that the Supreme Court granted her conditional bail on the condition that she should cooperate with the investigation officers.

"Hon. Supreme Court of India has allowed my Interim Application of Bail with a condition to attend Investing Authority when required so I am appearing before the Investigation Agency i.e. Property Cell, Byculla tomorrow 23rd September, 2021 at 11AM for my statement," Gandi Baat actress Gehana Vasisth said in her Instagram post.

Speaking to the media, the actress said she was framed into the issue and she has no role to play in the case. Expressing her happiness of getting an interim bail, Gehana said that the truth had prevailed.

The alleged adult film creation and publishing racket that was busted by the Mumbai Police earlier in February this year had surprised everyone. As part of the investigation, the cops have arrested and produced the accused before the court and they were sent to custody.

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra, who was arrested in connection with the adult racket was released on a bail based on the orders of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.
