Sensible filmmaker Sekhar Kammula is known for making feel-good love dramas. He is treading familiar territory with Love Story which is billed to be a proper love drama. The film mainly banks on the chemistry between the lead pair Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi.
When asked about Love Story, Sekhar Kammula says the film is a blend of romance, music, and it will also address a couple of underlying social issues in an interesting manner. He adds that the film will be a light hearted romantic entertainer but it will also have a strong and prevalent social plot that touches the hearts of all sections of the audience.
"Coincidentally, Love Story is releasing on 24th September, which is the same as ANR's Prem Nagar. I will be really happy if Love Story achieves 30% of the success of Prem Nagar. I hope Love Story is lapped up by all sections. I am also hoping that the film will be a memorable one for me personally and as well as cine goers. Much like my previous films, Love Story can be watched again and again," Sekhar Kammula says.
The noted director says Love Story will showcase a new facet of Naga Chaitanya. "He molded himself into a typical Telangana lad for Love Story. His dialogue delivery, mannerisms, and his appearance, as a whole will be completely different from what he has done till now.â
"Our producers persisted on theatrical release even when the Covid second wave threw us a big challenge. They stood as a source of strength for me."
Sekhar says Sai Pallavi is a strong performer and that is the reason why he cast her again after Fidaa. He says Sai Pallavi's character in Love Story will have many shades and layers.
About his upcoming projects, Sekhar stated that his next with Dhanush will be a multilingual thriller. He also announced that he will be working the sequel to Leader.
Coming back to Love Story, the love drama is set to hit the silver screens on the 24th of this month. The film marks the coming together of Nag Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi, and Sekhar Kammula.
