After first generation directors like Satyajit Rey, Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra (who made films from long time since 1964 to 2012), K.V Reddy and several others, the movies have become more actor based than a director being able to bring in crowds.

The above mentioned directors dreamed big consistently. Shekhar Kapur after Mr. India made courageous Bandit Queen on Poolan Devi and went to Hollywood.

He has been critical about lack of imagination in Hindi cinema and he again said that directors of Mumbai lack passion that Shankar and SS Rajamouli bring to table.

He tweeted,

"Why are Directors from Southern India succeeding in large scale films where Directors in Mumbai are failing? Directors from the South certainly show far more passion in their film making. Like in #Bahubali #Bahubali2 #2Point0"

Well, he has been a master filmmaker when it comes to imaginative films, so his words needs to be taken seriously by many. Also, Karan Johar admitted strongly that Baahubali like a slap on face to Hindi filmmakers.

We have to wait and see, if Hindi filmmakers also react positively and give us some imaginative films.
