Veteran actor and Trinamool Congress MP Mithun Chakraborty was rushed to Raksha Hospital in Kandivali on Sunday after he complained of fever, severe stomach ache and vomiting. He was kept under observation for some time and was shifted to another hospital within few hours. His condition is said to be stable now.
Apparently, The enforcement directorate (ED) questioned Mithun Chakraborty few days ago in connection with the multi-crore Saradha chitfund scam in Kolkata. He acted as the brand ambassador of the Saradha Group.
ED recorded Mithun Chakraborty's statement under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The actor told the investigation sleuths that his association with Saradha Group was purely professional and he had no intention to cheat anyone. He also gave assurance on returning nearly Rs 2 crore he received for being the brand ambassador.
