Shabaash Mithu: Tapsee Gets into the Skin of Mithali Role

Update: 2022-06-20 07:38 GMT
Keeping an end to the long waiting, the makers of Shabaash Mithu, the biopic of veteran Indian women player Mithali Raj unveiled the trailer just a while ago. The trailer starts by touching on the interesting points in Mithali Raj's life which guided her towards the game and how she started playing for India.

Talented actress Taapsee, who played Mithali Raj is the show-stealer in the trailer. She went into the skin of the character. Tapsee's acting is so brilliant that we cannot imagine others in Mithai Raj's role. The vigorous training she went through can be seen. Tapsee played shots like a professional cricketer.

Mithali Raj started playing cricket when there used to not be much focus on women's cricketers. It was shown hard-hittingly as a helper at the cricket academy fails to name a single women player.

This encourages Mithali Raj to take a decision that they shall play in a way that their game will give them special recognition. The biopic will show how Mithali Raj went on to become a veteran player by crushing all the struggles she faced in her long career. The upcoming film will show how Mitahli Raj entered the team and was made the skipper.

Tapsee Pannu needs a special mention here. She worked on the character that she perfectly fit into the role. Like how Sushant Singh Rajput stepped into the role of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Tapsee did the same with Mithali Raj. Not just batting style, Tapsee managed to pull off even the standing and walking style of Mithali Raj.

Shabaash Mithu will hit the theatres on the 15th of July. The Tapsee Pannu starrer is carrying high expectations as everyone wants to know the struggles Mithali Raj faced since her training days and how she overcame the same. Srijit Mukherji helmed the upcoming sports biopic while Viacom18 Studios bankrolled the film which is made on a big scale.

Mithali Raj played cricket for more than two decades and represented India across the platforms. She ended her career as the leading run-scorer in women's cricket. The veteran player bid goodbye to the game without achieving the long dream of winning the World Cup.
