Shankar Clearly Prioritizing RC15 Over Indian 2

Update: 2021-08-24 07:31 GMT
Shankar had to take a big decision before commencing his next project RC15, which will have Ram Charan in the central role. He was pressured to resume shooting for Indian 2 by Lyca Productions who were bankrolling the project. However, Shankar didn't budge to the pressure that was mounted on him by Lyca and he decided to take up RC15. The project was announced as well. Lyca then moved the Madras high court against Shankar, but the court refused to rule a judgement restricting Shankar from working on any other project. This gave a free license to Shankar and he clearly prioritized RC15 over Indian 2. His immediate focus is on the Ram Charan starrer as he wishes to take the project onto the floors at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Kamal Hassan recently revealed that more than 60% of Indian 2 shoot has been wrapped up already and the makers are planning to wrap up the remaining portion at a brisk pace once the shoot resumes. He seemed confident about wrapping up the shooting for the project at the earliest once it resumes. However, Shankar isn't showing as much enthusiasm on Indian 2 as he has set all his focus on RC15.

It is heard that Indian 2 will resume shoot once Kamal Hassan wraps up his ongoing project, Vikram which is being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. But for that to happen, Shankar will have to make time from his prior commitments. He has already agreed to take up the Hindi remake of Aparichithudu once he is done with RC15. So it remains to be seen if he will come out of his adamant stand and start working on Indian 2 sooner rather than later. But his stand suggests that he is in no mood to take up the Kamal Hassan starrer in the near future. He has set his focus on other projects. The real reason behind the tiff between the makers of Indian 2 and Shankar is unknown for now but it surely is an ugly brawl. Meanwhile, RC15, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani is set to start rolling very soon.
