Update: 2021-04-29 10:14 GMT
It seems like every door India's ace filmmaker Shankar opens is leading him into a controversy these days. His 'Indian 2' got stopped due to his differences with Lyca Productions. He also locked horns with 'Anniyan' producer Ascar Ravichandran due to its Hindi adaptation. Shankar is in the news for all the wrong reasons these days and there seems to be no stopping for it.

After '2.0', he started 'Indian 2' with Kamal Hassan as the lead under the production of 'Lyca' banner. The film had a lot of expectations on everyone knows but it faced a lot of hurdles right from the beginning. It was delayed multiple times due to makeup issues, lack of dates and others. But the main conflict between the director and producer started when a few of the team members died on the set due to an unfortunate accident.

Shankar and Lyca Productions team had their differences in the amount of money to be paid for the families of the dead. The shooting did not restart after that incident and Shankar started to focus on other projects like Ram Charan's film under Dil Raju's production and 'Anniyan' Hindi adaptation with Ranveer Singh as the lead. Even Kamal Hassan moved on to other projects like 'Vikram'. But Lyca Productions and Shankar are unable to put an end to their differences. They are unable to reach a settlement and the issue has been shifted to the High Court now. The lawyers from both parties will battle it out in front of the judge and come to a conclusion about the future of 'Indian 2'.
