There are always patterns that successful filmmakers follow in their movies. For Trivikram it is telling anything with comedy and for Boyapati Srinu, it is all about big action set pieces.
For SS Rajamouli, two main characters and conflict between them with epic action episodes and for Sukumar, it is different heroes and their struggle with normalcy.
Similarly, Shankar likes to take a hero who is against everything that is wrong with society and fight it out. The problem may vary but the hero becomes vigilante for sure and even villain has major moral ambiguity in his films.
But somehow, the director doesn't like to share his full scripts and he just narrates an idea and few portions.
He believes in improvising but he attempts such films where he has to completely be ready with shots and dialogues to the perfect lengths.
He in an interview shared, "My kids are also intrigued about my stories. I don't share even with them what I am going to say in the movie.
They try to figure it all out by listening to me intently while taking on phone and discussing few things that are urgent at home which cannot wait till I reach office.
I tend to keep my office and home separate but spend most of my time at work. So, for them it is a fascination to know what my next story is all about.
They see pictures I take on the mobile, they read news and listen to my conversations and finally, come to me with a bunch of papers and a story written on them.
I read it and laugh out loud, saying that they were wrong and when they see the film, they get it," concluded Shankar.
Is it that hard to know the story of a Shankar's film? Well, definitely the scenes and imagination of the director is hard to fathom but his films do have a pattern!
