Did Shankar reduce for 2.0?

Update: 2017-10-29 08:27 GMT

No, we are not talking about the filmmaker Shankar's weight. We are not judging his looks, but he does look dashing in his new avatar. He is getting ready to meet us all with his new movie, 2.0, a sequel to Rajni's Enthiran/Robo. Recently, the songs composed by A.R. Rahman have been released in Dubai and a huge concert has been held to celebrate the occasion.

If you observe his films, they are always near to 3 hrs runtime or 2hrs 50 minutes runtime. That is 170 minutes or 180 minutes. His recent release I clocked 186 minutes in Tamil and 178 minutes in Telugu. After release, a 15 portion has been cut out of the movie as people could not see few scenes that involved indigestible elements. For 2.0, the director has made a cut for 140 minutes only it seems.

As the movie is in 3D and the director wanted to create an experience, he packed it up with huge action sequences and they all will have a great effect. He realised that people are not ready to see overlong movies like before and decided to cut it short. Also, he cut down on his songs that would easily add extra 20 minutes to the runtime. He is expecting to make a crisper film and make it an experience for the audience. Let's see how this time Shankar will score at the box office.
