Vijay's fantasy flick 'Puli' and Ram's commercial entertainer 'Shivam' were the two new releases this Week.
Inspite of a delayed release, Fantasy Genre has fetched good openings for 'Puli' at the Box Office. In just two days, This flick collected a share of over Rs 1.75 crore in AP & Nizam alone. Trade Circles were expected around Rs 1 crore share on Sunday. Of course, Monday will be key for this dubbed flick. In its full run, 'Puli' has to collect a share of over Rs 8 crore for break-even.
On the other hand, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore burnt his hands by releasing 'Shivam' on his own in many territories. The film opened to negative reports and has been declared a disaster in Overseas. On Day 2 itself, Shivam was trimmed by 20 minutes after complaints about the excessive run time (168 min). Still, The Word-Of-Mouth isn't encouraging and recovery of nearly Rs 20 crore investment looks almost impossible.
