A lot of women who come from big filmy backgrounds fail to succeed as heroines in Tollywood. None of the women in the Nandamuri and Daggubati families entered the movie industry while Supriya entered as a heroine from the Akkineni family. She did not become successful. The same goes with Manchu Lakshmi who did not get much success in movies. Niharika Konidela too tried her luck as a heroine but stopped making films now.

Now, she acted in 'Sekhar' which had her father Rajasekhar playing the title role.

She told that she did not mind them at first. She added that she got a cold which reduced in three days but it got infected to his dad which forced him to get admitted to the hospital. Rajasekhar's health became a worry to everyone in the family which made her think if she is really cursed. At one point, doctors said that there are 50-50 chances of him surviving which made Shivani very emotional. She thanked God for helping her dad.
She added that Rajasekhar lost 12 kilos due to covid and his lungs were 75% damaged. But he worked hard for 'Sekhar' and did workouts too. He even smoked cigarettes for the role which explains his dedication. At the end, Shivani sang the father-daughter sentiment song from the film made everyone on stage quite emotional.
