Four big movies came up to try their luck at the box office for Sankranti this year. First to join the Sankranthi race is 'NTR Kathanayakudu'. Touted to be the first part of NTR biopic starring Nandamuri Balakrishna movie carried a decent pre-release buzz.

But the film opened with a mixed talk from the audience. After that, Rajnikanth joined the race with 'Petta'. But the movie also received an average talk and the Tamil nativity of the film is not attracting the Telugu audience much. The next to join the race is Ramcharan starrer 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama' directed by Boyapati Srinu. The movie also opened with a negative talk from the audience.

Now, the last Sankranti release is 'F2: Fun and Frustration'. Touted to be a comedy entertainer, Victory Venkatesh and Varun Tej played the lead roles under the direction of hattrick director Anil Ravipudi. However, the audience are not showing interest in watching this it seems. Though the theatre occupancy in the multiplexes is pretty much decent, the small theatres are not getting Housefull.

Even on the opening day, there are some theatres which recorded only 20% of theatre occupancy which is not a good start for the film. However, we can say that if the movie succeeds in impressing the audience, then the occupancy will also get doubled.  Mehreen Pirzada and Tamanna Bhatia played the female leads in the movie.
