Usually, Films of Top Stars would fetch good TRPs for the first TV Premiere irrespective of their Box Office outcome. But, A film of Mahesh Babu proved that this statement doesn't make sense anymore.
Zee Telugu channel bagged 'Brahmotsavam' satellite rights for Rs 11.20 crore. Never been before such a huge price was offered for a Mahesh-starrer. To the shock of the channel management, This Family Drama managed to generate a TRP Rating of just 7.52 and it is poor by any standards. Even some of the low-budget films have performed better than 'Brahmotsavam'.
Whereas, Vijay Anthony's surprise Box Office blockbuster 'Bichagadu' achieved the highest TRP (18.75) this year. Inspite of falling short of expectations, 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' got 15.24 TRP to occupy second position. Supreme (14.79), Nenu Sailaja (12.37) and Nannaku Prematho (12.23) stood at 3rd, 4th and 5th spots respectively.
