Indian Cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul invited trouble with the comments they made during the talk show Koffee With Karan hosted by Karan Johar. Particularly, Pandya received backlash for his sexist and racist remarks. Views shared by the all-rounder hasn't gone down well with the viewers. Following which, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) served showcause notice to the two Cricketers. Hardik issued an apology on Twitter but that didn't stop BCCI from issuing the notice.
Committee of Administrators (CoA) Chief Vinod Rai told Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul should respond to the notices within 24 hours.
A BCCI Official opined comments made by Hardik Pandya were disrespectful to Women and were highly unacceptable. He went on to say apology isn't sufficient to end the issue & Hardik needs to realize the impact of the comments made by an International Cricketer in India.
Post this controversy, BCCI is considering not to allow Cricketers to appear on talk shows which aren't related to cricket.
