Allari Naresh and Sunil have been tasting flops repeated since few years. Now, They arrived together with 'Silly Fellows' to score a much needed success. Remake Specialist Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao made this comedy entertainer based on a Tamil super hit. Let's see what this movie have to offer...

Synopsis:

Veerababu (Allari Naresh), a small-time tailor, is so close to the Local MLA. A blunder committed by Veerababu lands his Friend Suri Babu (Sunil) in trouble. The situation of Suri Babu turns worse in the process of helping his Friend win the heart of his Soulmate. This is when the MLA loses mental balance to complicate the situation further. How the Close Friends overcome all the issues forms rest of the tale!

Performances:

Allari Naresh does what he is known for but failed to generate rib-tickling humour. Nothing to say about Sunil as well. Attempt made to retain the comic timing failed miserably. Chitra Shukla couldn't impress. Jayaprakash Reddy and Posani produced few laughs. Rest of the actors are alright.

Pros:

Jayaprakash Reddy-Posani Track

Cons:

Silly Acting

Silly Narration

Silly Direction

Technicalities:

None of the Songs composed by Sri Vasanth will stay in the memory for long time. Background Score is just okay. Cinematography by Tarun is ordinary. Production Values have been decent. Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao made a mistake by choosing a remake subject with outdated comedy. He couldn't score any brownie points as either Writer or Director.

Analysis:

Confusion Comedies have been a big hit in Telugu in the past. Spoofs and Parodies worked out wonderfully in those days. Whereas, Sensibilities of the Telugu Audience changed a lot in the recent years. They aren't willing to accept loud comedy, instead preferring situational humour in a settled manner. One can expect how movie buffs would receive a slapstick comedy in such times.

Most of the Comedy Episodes in 'Silly Fellows' look out-dated and uninteresting to say the least. Each and every sequence appears silly, in that way justification was done to the title. Viewers get the doubts what is there to remake this Tamil Flick. Actually, The original film hit the right chord with the Tamilians because of Comedian Suri's Track. In the remake, Sunil was unable to generate humour essaying the same role. Every single expression and dialogue of Sunil used to tickle the funny bone when he was a comedian. He, however, lost the comic timing completely and that drawback worked against the movie.

Neither there is Gripping Story nor Screenplay in 'Silly Follows'. Better to forget about the logic while watching this movie. Though there are plenty of Comedians in the film, None of them have been able to bring smiles on the faces of viewers. Among the Comedy Gang, Jayaprakash Reddy and Posani were better but even their comedy appears routine. Masses could connect to their mark comedy blocks to some extent. Watch 'Silly Fellows' for Silly Dialogues & Silly Scenes!

Bottom Line: Too Silly!
