This blockbuster director retires to become an actor ..

Actors have become directors and directors turned into actors too. Jandhyala, K. Viswanath, Kasi Viswanath have started their careers as technicians and then became directors. Post that they turned into actors as well. While Jandhyala just acted in few films, K. Viswanath as become a must for many Telugu movies for all the elderly roles. Another blockbuster director, SJ Suryah has decided to no longer continue as a director.

He directed movies like Vaali, Khushi and Nani before he acted on screen as a lead. In Tamil, he directed Nani as New, with himself as a lead. Even though Nani failed in Telugu it became a success in Tamil. As the director of Ajith's big blockbuster Vaali and Vijay's Khushi, which has been re-made by him with Pawan Kalyan in Telugu, he garnered lot of fame in South India. But once he became an actor with New, he tried to prove himself as an actor more and more.

But his earlier attempts failed and returned to direction with Puli. As that too failed, he worked hard to make Isai, his last film as a director starring himself. The movie became a hit and then he started getting offers as an actor. After many films, Iraivi happened for him in the direction of Subbaraj and his performance has been liked by audiences and other directors alike. Now he is the villain of big movies like Spyder and Vijay's Mersal. He is also doing many films as a lead and he decided to not direct anymore. He told to media, "I have joined film Industry, to become an actor. But I got a chance to become a director and did it. Now I am getting a chance to live my dreams so, let me do so. I have retired as a director and that director in me is resting peacefully at one corner."
