Mahesh Babu is undoubtedly the king of Overseas Market. No other Telugu Hero commands such a big market & the count of million dollar films in his career proves it. Obviously, Overseas Distributors would go to any extent to buy the rights of Mahesh-starrer. In the case of 'Spyder', They however waited patiently for months as the Producers quoted as much as Rs 21 crore initially.
At last, ATMOS and AZ India snapped the US Rights of 'Spyder' for Rs 15.5 crore. This include rights of Telugu and Tamil versions for North America. Rest of Overseas Rights will be sold separately.
Even a price of Rs 15.5 crore is considered to be huge. Why because, None of the South Indian Films (except Baahubali franchise) managed to collect so much in North America. 'Spyder' has to collect $5 million in USA alone to be in a safe zone, that's almost double to that of Mahesh's highest grosser 'Srimanthudu'. All hopes on Superstar's Star Power!
