Fishermen from India and Sri Lanka need to talk to overcome their territorial disputes, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Friday.
"When it comes to fishermen, on a number of occasions we have discussed the matter with Sri Lanka," he told the media here, referring to unending clashes on the narrow sea dividing the two countries.
He said the problem can be resolved only if fishermen's representatives from both countries "sit together and arrive at a solution".
