It was during this show Ranbir revealed the reason behind quitting the job of Assistant Director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Black' starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee. 'Bhansali is a tough task-master. He knew that I am sensitive and emotional, and hence he kept poking at me and after a point he has gone crazy. I used to kneel down on the set and he kept beating me. Its like torture and I decided to quit,' he told.
Of course, Ranbir gives credit for Sanjay Leela Bhansali for teaching him everything related to cinema and making him what he is Today. He says Bhansali is the best teacher he could get.
It was Bhansali who launched Ranbir Kapoor as hero with 'Saawariya'. Though the film was a flop, It fetched good recognition for Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor.
