Everyone Is Busy But Fewer Films!

Update: 2019-10-30 12:42 GMT
We Tollywood has the highest number of star heroes and directors. Everyone is busy with one project or the other. None of them are free but we still see fewer films releasing every year. With heroes and directors spending so much time on each film, the productivity in Tollywood is getting decreased every year.

Megastar Chiranjeevi who made a comeback in 2017 came with his next film 'Sye Raa' in October 2019. Which means he took nearly two years. This makes you wonder when his next flick releases. Other senior actors like Venkatesh and Nagarjuna are not releasing more than one film per year. Among them, it is only Balakrishna who keeps coming with at least two films every year.

Known for his speed, Ravi Teja surprisingly did not have a release to date after 'Amar Akbar Anthony'. Pawan Kalyan completely moved away from films now but even before that, he made one film every two years. As we know, Mahesh is known for his snail pace and doesn't offer more than one film per year to us. Stars like NTR and Charan are completely immersed in 'RRR' at present and we don't know when it releases. Prabhas who spent five years for 'Bahubali' gave away another 3 years for 'Saaho'. At this pace, his next film may release by the end of 2020 if it is made quickly. Allu Arjun was completely absent this year as he took a long gap after 'Naa Peru Surya'.

Coming to the directors, barring Puri Jagannadh, none of the directors are making films quickly. Rajamouli is making only high-budget films which demand years of effort. Trivikram too didn't have a single release this year. Even before that, he makes one film in two years. Sukumar waited almost two years to start his project with Allu Arjun even after delivering a success like 'Rangasthalam'. Not just the star directors, the young and upcoming directors too are going in the same way.

We don't know whether it is not being able to make films quickly or wanting for perfection but this is definitely affecting our industry. Hope our filmmakers realize this as quickly as possible.
