Tamil director Sundar. C came up with a proposal of 'Sangamithra' and Sri Thenandal Films backed up the project and they got ready to invest a whopping Rs. 250 crores for the magnum opus. They have launched the film at the Cannes Film Festival a few months ago with Arya, Jayam Ravi, Sathyaraj, Shruthi Haasan as the lead actors. Shruthi Haasan was supposed to play the titular role but she walked out of the film later.
The makers tried to replace her with other heroine but they are not successful in their search till now. The latest update from the Kollywood reveals that director Sundar is planning to complete another film by the time 'Sangamithra' hits the sets. He is said to be planning to work on a sequel to his super hit film 'Kalakalappu' which was released in 2012.
Considering the developments, industry insiders are commenting that 'Sangamithra' will be sidelined if Sundar chooses to work on another project. We have to wait for some more time to get some clarity on 'Sangamithra'.
