Update: 2017-08-02 15:19 GMT
Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) have gone on strike over a wage dispute with Producer's Council. As many as 40 Tamil Films were affected by the strike participated by 10,000 employees. Rajinikanth starrer 'Kaala' is the latest project to join the list. Shoot of this biggie has come to a halt on Tuesday.

Today, Rajinikanth appealed FEFSI to resolve the issue in an amicable manner by holding talks with Tamil Film Producers Council (TPFC). 'Stoppage of work is one thing I don't like. Be it any problem, Solution must be found through peaceful dialogues irrespective of one's likes and dislikes. I request FEFSI and TPFC to find a solution at the earliest,' he said in a statement.

Shooting of Vishal-starrer 'Thupparivalan' is unaffected by FEFSI strike. Vishal who is the President of TPFC says he has been exploring alternative options to help other films resume shoot quickly.

Actually, The issue began when shooting of a Tamil film was disrupted when FEFSI Members sought wage hike. In response, TFPC declared Producers have the right to decide whom they should hire and wages will be paid according to the scales fixed by the Producers Council. Then, FEFSI made it clear that those Employees who have it's membership can alone be employed by the Producers.
