Except Suriya, All the Top Stars of Kollywood have exercised their right to vote in 2016 Assembly Polls held on May 16th. Even Kamal Haasan delayed his US Tour to be in Chennai on the voting day. Doubts were expressed over Ajith, but Thala reached Polling Booth in the morning itself along with better half Shalini. Inspite of appealing people to vote in the campaign of Election Commission, Suriya has given a miss to the voting and he was criticized for it.
Suriya released a press note clarifying he is presently in USA and couldn't be in Chennai on May 16th due to unavoidable circumstances. He even claims to have tried online voting but could't be successful. Finally, He apologized to all the Tamil People for failing to practice what he preached.
