Tamil star Suriya slammed PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) which is instrumental in the ban against Jallikattu. PETA launched a counter attack accusing Suriya of using Jallikattu to publicize his upcoming flick 'S3'. It further added, Using bull taming sport which claimed the lives of bulls and humans for movie publicity is of poor taste.
Days after PETA levelled these allegations, Suriya served legal notice to the Animal Rights Group seeking an unconditional apology for terming his support to Jallikattu a publicity stunt. He alleges that the remarks made by PETA are derogatory and mischievous.
Suriya's Counsel R Vijay Anand made it clear his client doesn't stoop to such a level to promote his movie. He pointed out how Suriya genuinely strives for the welfare of society and charity work he does. He also states Singham franchise is one of the successful and popular franchise in the country.
