Megastar Chiranjeevi's ambitious project 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' has completed its first week run at the box-office and it was not as expected. Despite recording gigantic numbers at the Telugu box-office, it was a disaster in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. The numbers from overseas market too are not at all encouraging.
Till date, 'Sye Raa' got 2.2 million from the US box-office and it is Chiru's second film to enter the 2 million club after 'Khaidi No.150'. But this is not enough. The overseas rights were sold for a whopping 3.3 million and 'Sye Raa' is still a million behind this mark. With the film entering into its second week, the film is getting meagre revenue there and is soon to end as a huge failure at the overseas arena.
Unlike many other flicks, 'Sye Raa' was backed by positive word of mouth and good reviews. The same happened for Nani's 'Gang Leader' earlier. Looks like our producers need to be skeptical about the rates for which they sell their films. Wonder what effect will 'Sye Raa's result have on Sankranti's big releases?
