'Mersal' Telugu version didn't hit the screens due to unavoidable circumstances but Tamil version released as usual. 'Raja Rani' fame Atlee directed star hero Vijay in 'Mersal'. Even though the movie couldn't achieve blockbuster talk, it opened on a positive note. Vijay's triple role in the film impressed the audience. But Telugu audience missed the 'Mersal' Telugu version 'Adirindhi'.
There are Telugu audience who wanted to watch 'Adirindhi', so Multiplex screens came up with a brilliant idea to cash on the demand. They have screened Tamil version in place of Telugu version in all the theaters they have allotted for 'Adirindhi'. Even though many people couldn't understand the language, they have watched the Tamil version. Most of the screens were house full, that too on a Diwali day. That doesn't mean all the audience went to the theatres were Tamilians but our Telugu guys also watched the film.
Whatever be the case, star hero films are crossing all the language barriers in the recent past. Not just Vijay 'Mersal' but Aamir Khan's 'Secret Superstar' .. Ajay Devgn's 'Golmaal Again' movies also witnessed a huge rush.
