Sankranthi season is always special for Tollywood filmmakers. Some stars believe that it is a hit sentiment to release their films in the Sankranthi season. Irrespective of these sentiments, whenever a Sankranthi release receives hit talk, it will mint money at the box office. Considering the box office potential, filmmakers make early plans to stay in Sankranthi competition. Though stars avoid competition during other seasons, they will not hesitate to compete in Sankranthi race.

Ram Charan-Boyapati Srinu movie is slated for the release on January 11. Nandamuri Balakrishna-Krish movie NTR biopic is releasing on January 12. The makers are planning to release Victory Venkatesh-Varun Tej multistarrer 'F2' on the festival day. Anil Ravipudi is the director of this multistarrer.
It is to be remembered that Powerstar Pawan Kalyan film 'Agnyaathvaasi'.. Balakrishna 'Jai Simha'.. Raj Tarun 'Rangula Ratnam' released in the Sankranthi 2018. Only 'Jai Simha' made profits with average talk but the other two films turned out to be disasters.
