TFPC reacts to YCP MLA's 'Balisi Kottukuntunnaru' comments

Earlier today, YCP Kovur MLA Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy said "Cinema vallu balisi kottukuntunnaru (Film celebrities are exhibiting arrogance overtly. They don’t even know about Andhra Pradesh and its chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They sit in Hyderabad and earn crores of rupees through the films that are released in Andhra Pradesh and make big revenues here. Poor people are having to waste their hard earned money to fill the pockets of these heroes and producers. Jagan is the first CM to take notice of this and curb the atrocities of these film stars."

In response, the Telugu Film Producers council has a fitting reply to the YCP MLA as they have released a new statement.

"It is untoward that the honorable MLA Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy garu has such a conception of the Telugu film industry. It needs to be noted that the success rate in Tollywood is around 2-5%. The producers take on several challenges to produce the films. We produce films with crores of budget and take a whole lot of risk with the same. It also needs to be noted that many producers in the past have lost their everything. There are a few former producers, who were once mounting films and are now left with nothing. They are taking the Rs 3000 customary pension that the Producers' Council offers them. there are indeed a lot of risks associated with film production. It is unfortunate that the MLA has such harsh words to say about us. We request him to take back his words." The statement from TFPC read
