Mercury Song: Prabhu At His Best

Update: 2018-03-17 14:51 GMT
Prabhu Deva's latest film 'Mercury' directed by Karthik Subbaraj is getting ready for the release soon. Touted to be a silent thriller, the movie story is based on the death of 84 people who died in Kodaikanal due to Mercury poisoning.  Recently released teaser received good applause from the audience.  The makers have come up with a promotional song now.

Though the movie is a silent thriller, they have opted the promotional song to be in Hindi. Kindly don't raise the doubt why a silent thriller needs a song? The song 'Mercury saa hai tera pyaar..' is very lengthy.. nearly 8 minutes.  But still, Mithoon's peppy tune... Sayeed Quadri's catchy lyrics.. singing of Haricharan & Gajendra Varma, made it interesting.

The highlight of the song is mercuric dance moves of Prabhu. In fact, it is a treat to watch Prabhu dance like a Michael Jackson.  It would be hard to believe Prabhu is a 44-year old guy when we watch his effortless steps. If we talk about the picturisation, the song has been shot well.  While half the song runs in a bright atmosphere in a cowboy style cafe, rest of the song runs like haunted souls in dark mode.

On the whole, the promotional song impresses the audience and it has raised the interest levels. Mercury is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. The film is hitting screens on April 13, 2018.
