Positives And Negatives Of Films Releasing This Weekend!

Trade wants a highly satisfying weekend where films draw full house crowds or at least 85% on each day each show through the weekend. They see potential of the films through the process of observation and buzz calculations.

Buzz for films is calculated by the amount spent on advertising, discussion on social media platforms, data from radio air wave distribution and finally the pre-release bookings.

As we have been watching the films and observing trends, we are coming up with a new segment that will throw an analytical view on new releases how trade normally comes to a conclusion on whom to bet next or how will a film perform? Let's dive into it.

This week's releases:

1) Voter - Vishnu Manchu
2) Mallesham - Priyadarshe
3) Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya - Naveen Polisetty
4) First Rank Raju
5) Special
6) Gajendrudu
7) Captain Rana Pratap

Trade Outlook:

- Captain Rana Pratap, Special and Gajendrudu are not on the radar of anyone as the promotions of the films are absent. Release centres are also too low for any expectations

- First Rank Raju doesn't have physical publicity like Paper ads, posters as much as they have Satellite ads and digital ads. The buzz from social media on the film is higher than others but it is still in the zone of distributors hoping for a better turnout than a writing on the wall.

- Agent Sai Srinivas Atreya team had 3 to 4 shows for outsiders and Industry insiders other than just team members. The response from most of them is that the movie is watchable and enjoyable. So trade expects the movie to pick up after the release and the main onus is on the lead Naveen Polisetty. As per buzz metrics, movie isn't doing more than 65% in ascendence at the moment.

- Mallesham is running a campaign targeting C/O Kancherapalem audiences and they had many previews that ended with audiences clapping the efforts. Even though social media buzz, radio stations buzz is not too high it has been constant at 75% and Suresh Productions hopes that it increases post release. Trade is expecting movie to at least have 70% full houses by Sunday, starting with 45-50% on working day, Friday.

- Unfortunately, for Manchu Vishnu Voter hasn't done anything good for his credibility and the movie is expected to be a disaster by trade at this point of time. But the movie team is hoping for a word of mouth publicity in favour of them. Movie has no buzz at all.

Our Analysis:

After understanding what Trade expects from new releases, we can analyse that the weekend war is between Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya and Mallesham mostly.

First Rank Raju will have an impact on Sunday, if the word of mouth is positive for the film but initial two days, the movie will mostly be a distant third in the race, at least the situation at this point is like that!

All others including Vishnu's Voter need favourable reviews and massive support from audiences to sustain. We may doubt that but we hope everyone earns at least  their money back.
