Three Big OTT Releases For Diwali

Every year the movie theatres witness a flock of an audience in the festival seasons. Diwali used to be a good time for many filmmakers as the festival seasons gives them good fortune and profits, making their films hit at the box office. However, this year, because of the pandemic, most of the big screens are still closed and makers are not expecting to release the movies anytime sooner in the theatres.

In a much-needed relief, the OTT platforms have become a great destination for the audience to watch new releases and for makers to release their new movies as well. On the occasion of Diwali, three big movies in Tamil are being released in digital streaming platforms.

Suriya’s upcoming film Soorarai Pottru is all set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from November 12.  The movie will be reportedly released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The story of 'Soorarai Pottru' is said to be inspired by GR Gopinath, who founded the low-cost airline, Air Deccan. Sudha Kongara directed the film while Suriya along with Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment has bankrolled it.

RJ Balaji's Mookuthi Amman starring Nayanthara in the lead role will air on Disney Hotstar from November 14. The film is made on religious politics, politicians, religious leaders who make a fool of people. Produced by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International, the film's crew has composer Girishh G, cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan and editor RK Selva.

Actor Jayam Ravi's upcoming Tamil film Bhoomi, which happens to be his 25th outing, will be telecasted Diwali evening on SunTV. The film will also be aired on Sun Next. The film is tipped to be set against a village backdrop. The film marks the reunion of Ravi and director Lakshman after Romeo Juliet and Bogan. It marks the Tamil debut of Ismart beauty Niddhi Aggarwal.
