Three South Indian Films To Be Screened At Golden Globe Awards

One of the most prestigious awards in the world, the 78th Golden Globes awards is out and it has three South Indians films to compete with some of the best films in the world this year.

Unlike Academy Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) allows more than one submission from a country. According to the website, 139 Foreign Language Films were eligible for Golden Globe consideration from 77 countries this year.

In a proud feat, three out of five films hail from the south film industry. Dhanush's Asuran, Suriya's Soorarai Pottru and Malayalam film Jallikattu have caught the attention of Hollywood. It is worth mentioning that Jallikattu, the Malayalam film is also India's official entry to the Academy Awards, under the Best International Feature category, this year.

Other Indian films include Prateek Vats's Eeb Allay Ooo!, Om Raut's Tanhaji, Shyam Madiraju's Harami, Anurag Basu's Ludo, Chaitanya Tamhane's The Disciple, Kislay's Just Like That and Bijukumar Damodaran's Trees Under the Sun. All the films will be screened at the  International awards event.
