There is no second thought or any denial in the effort put in by a crew to complete a film. At the end of the day, few movies stand out and win the hearts of the public while some fail to conquer the box office. But the efforts put in are the same and several producers wish to just make the money they have spent on the movie by the release time and if it becomes a super hit, they feel like they have scored Jackpot. Such are the difficulties they face to release a movie.
These days, with the surge in the media outlets that write about the movies, collections of several movies are getting effected. The makers are feeling that there is an increase in the negativity and they dislike it. Now, Bollywood has started holding back their movies till the release date and they have made this choice not to release too much information to the media about their film before the release Friday. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos and Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Harry Met Sejal did not have any premieres and few media persons are hurt by this.
Eariler, producers used to conduct grand premiere events for press and hoped that their movie will get positive press and that will kick start a great post release promotional campaign. But that has not been the case lately, many producers have decided to not play premieres and even recent biggie, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, starring Akshay Kumar also did not have any premieres. Yash Raj Films and Fox International used to not conduct any premieres and now everyone has joined them. This triggered many critics and media persons to react strongly and a famous critic Raja Sen, criticised this move by suggesting, why should they hide, if they have a good film on their hands!
