The Coronavirus has affected the film industry very badly. It forced the industry to go into lockdown for months and people had to face a lot of hardships and losses. Theatres were closed, shootings were stalled and everything was kept on hold. After the restrictions were lifted, there was some respite as everyone slowly began to return to the normal state. The theatres were opened back and with 100% occupancy after a certain time, things seemed great.
But the second wave is hitting the film industry quite badly now. The Corona cases are increasing rapidly all over the country. We are witnessing a lot of deaths and people are terrified that the government may bring the lockdown once again. Though it may not be a possibility for now, people are forced to follow all the safety guidelines without fail. Even the film industry is planning on taking some actions as per reports.
Already a lot of technicians and artists are affected by this and shootings were kept on hold due to this. Star actor Sonu Sood who participated in 'Acharya' shooting along with Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi has tested positive for the virus. Now the entire team is getting worried. A lot of filmmakers decided to give a break to their film shootings as a safety measure. There is also a talk of restricting the theatre occupancy to 50% again. A lot of movie releases were already postponed and we need to see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
