Our Heroes Are Changing!

Telugu cinema hero is always the most powerful. He has all the good qualities.  Writers, directors never liked to attach them any disability or defect to our heroes.  This kind of approach made our hero characters routine without any novelty.  The situation is completely different in our neighboring film industries like Tamil and Malayalam as the hero characters will be designed with defects sometimes.  They achieved novelty in stories with this kind of experiments.

Slowly the situation is changing in even Tollywood as well.  There is a change in stories and characters.  Heroes are not hesitating to do different characters.  Our heroes are also acceptive characters with 'defects'.  Two stars have done such characters last year.   Jr. NTR has done a character Jai' with stuttering in 'Jai Lava Kusa'.  In fact, Jai character turned out to be the highlight of the film.  The audience were impressed with Jai character.

Mass Raja Ravi Teja surprised everybody with his blind character in 'Raja The Great'.   Audience had doubts about the blind character because such films will lack entertainment. But Anil Ravipudi designed an entertaining character for Ravi Teja and impressed the audience.   The movie fared well at the box office.

Coming to the present, Sukumar is presenting Ram Charan as a deaf young man in 'Rangasthalam'.  This film is slightly different if we compare with the above two films.  We can't expect Sukumar to do the same as Bobby & Anil Ravipudi did.  Sukku will definitely try to design the hero character differently.  The teaser revolved around his deafness.  So, the audience are eagerly waiting to know how the director presents Cherry in the film.

On the whole, our Telugu heroes are playing characters with defects like stuttering.. blindness..deafness..  is a great change for sure.
