The Covid outbreak is the big disaster the film industry ever faced. Everything came to a standstill for almost one and a half years. As if that was not enough the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy brought a Government Order reducing the movie ticket prices.
The issue was partially addressed when a delegation led by the Undisputed King of Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi met the Chief Minister. A few films were given a free hand. Films made on big budgets were allowed to increase ticket prices.
The ticket prices issue is said to have troubling the industry as a few films are hitting the theaters for the Sankranthi season. Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are coming for Sankranthi with their respective films Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.
The makers of the two films are reportedly trying their best in making the government understand the situation and increase movie ticket prices. The makers are busy making efforts in reaching out to the government.
In short, Tollywood is expecting Telangana Like support from the Andhra Pradesh government as far as movie ticket prices are concerned. The Telangana government is very liberal in allowing the makers to increase movie ticket prices. For the Sankranti season as well the government is expected to allow the makers.
Both films are made on a good budget reportedly and they cannot recover the budget by depending only on Telangana and they need similar support from Andhra Pradesh as well. So the makers are giving their best in getting a nod from the Andhra Pradesh government to increase the movie ticket prices to benefit them.
In three weeks the movies will hit the theatres and the makers have a short time and in this, they have to run fast to get an appointment from the concerned Minister and convey their request to the Chief Minister through the Minister.
Besides this, the makers are also in plan to request the Andhra Pradesh government to allow them to have an extra show for a few days to bank on the festival season. They are hopeful of a positive outcome with the meeting.
