Star hero Prabhas pinned a lot of hopes on 'Radhe Shyam'. He moved away from his regular action genre and wanted to provide something different for the audience with this romantic drama. But the film was not well received by the audience. Despite getting a gross of 89 crores on its first day, the collections dropped drastically over the next few days. The negative talk during the morning shows has spread like wildfire and people who wanted to watch the film decided to leave it which affected its box office prospects.

With the film ending up losses and 'RRR' releasing on 25th March, the makers were left with no option but to release the film as soon as possible on a digital platform. They have sold the rights to the top OTT platform Amazon Prime Video and they premiered it on 1st April. Fans were severely upset with such a big film releasing digitally just after 20 days of its theatrical release.

Despite the negative talk, reports suggest that 'Radhe Shyam' is getting a lot of viewership on Amazon Prime. The reception has been reportedly amazing and people who have missed this intense romantic drama in theatres have all watched it on Prime Video. Some of them are claiming that it was not as bad as they thought it would be and it is a bit of relief for Prabhas fans who were deeply saddened by the result.

News is that Amazon Prime Video paid an extra 25 crores for the movie team in order to release the film earlier than planned. The production house agreed to it as the extra money can recover a part of the losses. Prabhas has completed the shooting of 'Adipurush' and the post-production works are going on right now.

He will be undergoing knee surgery and will be spending three months in recovery. He is currently working on 'Salaar' and 'Project K' which were supposed to release next year.

'Radhe Shyam' is produced by UV Creations and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar who made 'Jil' earlier. Pooja Hegde is the heroine in this heroine and Prabhas played the role of a world-renowned palmist.
