Tussle For Theatres Starts Already!

Update: 2022-12-07 07:06 GMT
Time is running rapidly and within no time we will be busy booking tickets for the Sankranti releases. The business for Sankranti releases are getting completed and things are gradually getting hearted. As we know, the Film Chamber wanted to give more preference to straight Telugu movies like 'Waltair Veerayya' and 'Veera Simha Reddy' while Dil Raju wants more theatres for his dubbing movie 'Varasudu'. Despite getting a lot of backlash, Dil Raju tried to defend himself on 'Open Heart With RK' and did not give any chance to the media in recent times.

There are reports arriving that the arrangements are already being done behind everyone's back. Ajith's 'Thunivu' came into the Pongal race recently and there are four releases now. There is a talk that Santosh Sobhan's small film 'Kalyanam Kamaneeyam' is also trying to get released during the same time. UV Creations is bankrolling this project. If this news turns out to be true, there will be five releases during the festive season. No one knows how all these flicks would be accommodated within a short space. It will be a humiliation for big stars like Chiru and Balayya to get a theatre each in the B&C mass centers which have 4-5 theatres.

Less number of theatres won't be enough for such big stars and the overflow shifts towards 'Varasudu' and 'Thunivu'. There is no such problem in the cities but towns and villages will be affected badly due to this. The latest turn in this series of events is that Chiru and Balayya fans are highly angry over the fact that the famous Sudharshan 35mm and Devi 70mm theatres are booked for 'Varasudu' and 'Thunivu' respectively. If this is true, 'Veerayya' and 'Veera Simha' will be Sandhya 35mm and Sandhya 70mm theatres respectively. This is the same situation in the cities in Vizag and Vijayawada as well.

It looks like Dil Raju is taking a major share of theatres for his films and leaving the rest to other movies. While Dil Raju claims to be wanting success for everybody, it looks like Mythri Movie Makers are getting cornered completely. Let us wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.
