Varun Tej Has Arrived In US Markets!

Update: 2018-02-24 07:56 GMT
It is no mean feat for a Telugu film to collect above one Million USD at US Box office. With the kind of more intellectual and educated diaspora of Telugu people in the market, the collections don't come easy for every film.

So, whoever can bring in audiences to the theatres in US as well, are seen as box office heroes both in Domestic and Overseas markets.

In domestic market a simple commercial film could score a 30 crores share, if the hero is well known like Ravi Teja, Nani.

The big heroes like Mahesh, Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Junior NTR, Prabhas look to put up one Million USD premieres in US and 15 to 25 crores opening days in domestic market as well.

But long run in USA, depends more on content and Nagarjuna proved that you can breach 1.5 Million dollars with movies like Oopiri and Manam, if you have good name and fame, going with enjoyable content.

Also, 55 to 70% of the collections for any movie, in USA, come in the first weekend and additional second and third weekend will tell you how the film survived in the people's minds.

It is highly important that people consider a hero film, must watch in the first weekend for it to cross 500 to 600k USD in the opening weekend itself, with increased stakes.

Varun Tej like Nani, scored back to back to one Million USD films with medium budget and family movies. Fidaa, went above 2 Million USD mark too.

Continuing that momentum with TholiPrema, he has put up another Million USD film. This shows that the actor has now, a set group of audience who would be willing to give his next few films a chance.

If he gives good films in his next two to three in a bunch, he will be star in US, Telugu diaspora but right now, he has arrived on their radar. We congratulate the entire team of Tholiprema, including Raashi Khanna, Varun Tej, Venky Atluri for this achievement.

Also, Dil Raju, the distributor of the movie, recovered good amounts in domestic market after few huge setbacks.
