Daggubati Venkatesh became a big star in Telugu Cinema after he started doing all varieties of films in the early 90's. Chanti gave him a huge support of families and Bobbili Raja gave him base in masses.

He couldn't maintain it after 2006 release Lakshmi, as he faced more commercial failures as an actor even though he made victory his surname.

The actor had to go through several highs and lows throughout 2007-2011 period. From 2012, he decided to go with multi-starrers and found success with Seethamma Vakitlo Srimalle Chettu, Gopala Gopala and F2.

His solo releases like Drishyam became moderate successes. Shadow kind of failures hurt him even more, to pursue his career as solo hero.

Now, he is trying Asuran remake after Guru success, which was also a remake. Before that film, his multi-starrer with Naga Chaitanya is releasing on 13th December.

Venky Mama, the multi-starrer's title, story was supposed to concentrate more on Venkatesh's role but the actor asked Bobby, the director to concentrate on Chaitu's character.

He said in promotional interview of the film, "Yes, I asked Bobby to concentrate on Chaitanya's character more. I felt it was less explored in comic and sentimental regions. Bobby wrote an intriguing script and made a very entertaining film. I am confident about its success."

He later revealed that he doesn't care about his character length if he likes a script. He said that he is above such petty issues and if he likes his character, he is ready to work with any hero.
