Vidya Balan's new movie Mission Mangal is a big ensemble hit with Akshay Kumar, Tapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Kriti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Nitya Menen in the cast.
Movie is a comeback for her at box office after several flops and she got the best character out of the cast too.
The actress did not reveal any #MeToo kind of horrifying sexual harassment story but a Tamil producer made her feel like sh*t and ugly for months it seems.
She revealed to a National media outlet that she started her career with plenty of rejections in Malayalam and Tamil movies. She also said that she used to get replaced as well without getting a proper reason.
But for one Tamil film, she shot for few schedules and then got replaced it seems. She was shattered and her father wanted to know the reason behind it.
When he, Vidya and her mother went to meet him, producer showed them the pictures and said that she was looking ugly and it was the director who insisted to take her. He never wanted her in the first place in the film, it seems.
After that encounter Vidya recounted how she was scared to look into mirror. She said, "I felt ugly...I felt like sh*t for months and I don't think I looked at myself in the mirror... I didn't like what I saw because I thought I was ugly...For the longest time, I did not forgive that man, but today, thanks to that I realized that I have to love and accept myself the way I am."
The producer must have been regretting for loosing such a talent in his film but Vidya proved that several opinions cannot suppress the real talent from shining and all you need is grit and right opportunity!
