Update: 2017-10-21 04:12 GMT
Vijay-starrer 'Mersal' (Adirindi in Telugu) have few hard-hitting satires on the schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past one year. A controversy has erupted over these dialogues and BJP Leaders demanded removal of such scenes with immediate effect.

In a particular scene, Vijay's Character points out Singapore Government which charges 7 percent GST offers free medical services to the citizens of the country. Whereas, Indian Government offers nothing like that inspite of charging 28 percent GST.

Tamil Nadu BJP Leaders questioned, 'How could Vijay who should be very responsible mock the reforms introduced by Prime Minister of the country? These things only expose his immaturity'.

BJP Leaders and Right-Wing Activists have been demanding removal of references to GST. Makers are now contemplating on removing those dialogues from the movie.
