SS Rajamouli kept saying Mahabharat is his dream project and he would direct the epic before his retirement. He is just testing his calibre & reach of his projects with Magadheera, Eega and Baahubali. These facts eventual gave an opportunity for rumormongers to spread speculations. Some media outlets has even gone to the extent of claiming they came to know about the estimated budget of the massive project.
Writer K Vijayendra Prasad was quick to react on the baseless speculations doing rounds. He made it clear that Mahabharat isn't on the cards and it won't go on floors anytime soon. Neither Vijayendra Prasad nor Rajamouli has begun preparing the bound script of Mahabharat so far.
In addition, Rajamouli have plans to make 'Eega 2' & a project with none other than Mahesh Babu. K Vijayendra Prasad earlier hinted about Baahubali franchise to have altogether 5 or 6 parts. At least, 7-8 Years would be required to wrap up all these projects. Only then, Jakkanna could focus on Mahabharat!
