Vijayendra Prasad has been in the film industry for the past couple of decades but he is mainly known as the father of SS Rajamouli these days. He is the story writer for all Rajamouli's films and he has given the script for some big films like 'Mersal', 'Bhajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Manikarnika' and the upcoming 'Thalaivi' too.

In an interview with Ali, he opened up about Rajamouli's young days and how he used to be. We all know him as perfectionist 'Jakkanna' who makes one blockbuster after another but Vijayendra Prasad claims that he used to be aimless like any other youngster at a time. Rajamouli couldn't become a graduate due to some financial problems in the family.

When he was apparently wasting time, his dad asked Rajamouli about his future and Rajamouli confidently said that he wanted to become a director. At first, he was under the wing of Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao in order to know about editing and later worked alongside his brother MM Keeravani to get a grip on music. After working as an assistant writer under his father, Rajamouli became an assistant to Raghavendar Rao.

Vijayendra Prasad said that Rajamouli used to make promos for Telugu Desam Party before directing 'Shanti Nivaasam' serial. It was Raghavendar Rao who gave his first opportunity in the form of 'Student No 1' and the rest as they say is history.
