What Happened To Nagarjuna's Fanbase?

Like any other big family, the Akkineni heroes too possess a good fanbase. These cult fans are those who drag themselves to theatres on the morning shows irrespective of the hype and buzz on the film. But those loyal fans are slowly fading away for the Akkineni family. While the youngsters like Naga Chaitanya and Akhil are managing to attract the movie lovers, Nagarjuna is losing his fanbase rapidly as there is no craze for his upcoming release 'The Ghost'.

On the occasion of Dasara, two senior heroes Nag and Chiru are coming with a film each. Praveen Sattaru is the director of Nag's film while Mohan Raja directed Megastar's 'God Father'. Praveen Sattaru is an acclaimed filmmaker with a good name in Tollywood. A lot of people don't know Mohan Raja's name. 'The Ghost' is an original action thriller while 'Godfather' is a remake of 'Lucifer' which is already available on the OTT platform. Despite all that, it is Megastar's film that is all set to get very good openings while Nag's film is not having a lot of buzz around it.

Nag heavily promoted 'Wild Dog' and 'Manmadhudu 2'. But both films ended up as failures. 'Bangarraju' which came out during the Sankranti season reached expectations and became a hit. But Nagarjuna is not at all promoting 'The Ghost' and many are pointing out that 'Bigg Boss' is the reason behind it.

People are accepting Nagarjuna in family films while they are rejecting his romantic or action films. But Nagarjuna is focusing on those films which are not interesting to the audience. One fails to understand what happened with Nagarjuna's solid fanbase who used to watch all his movies on the first day.
