Update: 2022-04-07 07:38 GMT
Entertaining Maruthi has been in the news a lot lately. As soon as the update about him directing Prabhas came out, it went viral and fans were shocked. Barring Venkatesh, Maruthi never directed a star hero and Prabhas is a pan-Indian hero who has an action hero image. They looked like polls apart but they are coming together for a horror-comedy as per reports.

There rumours that the set is getting built already and the shooting will be beginning as soon as possible. But Prabhas underwent knee surgery and had to take a few months rest. Also, the 'Chatrapathi' hero is in need of a good hit right now since his latest venture 'Radhe Shyam' turned out to be a huge disaster. It failed in Telugu as well as in other languages including Hindi.

He has to get his next film right as it is very crucial for his pan-Indian market. He pinned a lot of hopes on 'Adipurush' which is expected to come out this year. On top of that, there are reports that Maruthi is yet to prepare a bound script for the project. The second half has to be completed and the director reportedly hired a bunch of writers. Geetha Arts team are expected to bankroll this flick and this team of writers headed by Vasu Varma are letting their creative juices flow in a star hotel.

Grapevine suggests that there will be three heroines in this flick and one of them is Malavika Mohanan. Senior actors like Paresh Rawal and Boman Irani are being considered an important role according to reports. Let us wait and see when this project actually takes off.

Maruthi came into the industry with a small film named 'Ee Rojullo' which became a good hit. He made 'Bus Stop' which was a success too and produced some low-budget films which did not do well barring 'Prema Katha Chitram' which he supervised. His big break came with Nani's 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy'. He later made films like 'Babu Bangaram', 'Mahaanubhavudu', 'Prathi Roju Pandage', 'Shailaja Reddy Alludu', 'Manchi Rojulochayi' and is currently awaiting the release of 'Pakka Commercial'.
