Update: 2022-05-04 11:48 GMT
Do you remember 'Virataparvam'? The film which was directed by 'Needi Naadi Oke Katha' fame Venu Udugla and features Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi in the main roles. Produced by Suresh Productions, the film generated a lot of buzz last year with its songs and teasers. People were eagerly waiting for its release but there is no news about it over the past few months.

As we know, the film was postponed several times despite announcing the release dates. Due to the pandemic, there was news that 'Virataparvam' will be directly released on an OTT platform. While films like 'Narappa' and 'Drishyam 2' which were made under the same banner came out on Amazon Prime, there is still no clarity over Rana's film. If the deal is done, 'Virataparvam' should have been streaming by now.

The makers are not releasing the film in theatres either. There is not even a single update from the makers since the arrival of 2022. The dates are completely fixed for the entire summer, there is a chance that 'Virataparvam' might come out in the second half of 2022 but the makers are yet to announce it. Movie lovers are getting irked by the indecisiveness of the makers. With ‘Acharya’ that had a backdrop of Naxalism failing badly, there are doubts arising on ‘Virataparvam’ too.

Rana plays the role of Comrade Ravanna in this movie which is inspired by the true events of the 1990s. He writes poetry in this film and his pen name is Aranya. Sai Pallavi plays the role of Vennela who is a big admirer of Ravanna's poetry. The film also has an amazing star cast comprising Priyamani, Nanditha Das, Naveen Chandra, Zareena Wahab, Eswari Rao, Sai Chand, Benarji, Nagineedu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Devi Prasad and others.

Dani Sanchez Lopez is the cinematographer along with Divakar Mani. Suresh Bobbili scored the music and Raju Sundaram is the choreographer while Stephen Richard along with Peter Hein composed the fights. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Suresh Babu, Venu Udugula made this film with a Naxalite backdrop.
