The much-awaited season is finally here and we have witnessed three of the four big releases already. While both 'Thegimpu' starring Ajith and Vijay's 'Varisu' arrived on the 11th of January, the Telugu version of 'Varisu' will be coming out on the 14th of January. The mass action film 'Veera Simha Reddy' starring Nandamuri Balakrishna has already hit the screens this Thursday.
It is well known that 'Thegimpu' got a below average talk in the Telugu market. The lack of emotional relatability and overreliance on Ajith's stardom are the biggest letdowns of this movie. It may get massive collections in Tamil but the signs are not that encouraging in Telugu.
Coming to 'Varisu', the movie managed to get an average talk in Tamil and it will undoubtedly get record collections due to Vijay's stamina but we need to see how the Telugu audience embrace it.
'Veera Simha Reddy' is a complete action film with a lot of bloodshed. There is no entertainment factor in the movie and it is filled with elevations scenes and high-octane action episodes. The movie managed to get an average talk from the critics and they are mainly complaining about the second half.
None of the three releases till date managed to get a complete hit talk. The only release left is Megastar's 'Waltair Veerayya' which is releasing this Friday. There are good expectations on this movie and the trailer showcased the there is an equal dose of fun and action in this movie. Megastar is coming with the support of Ravi Teja this time which will definitely work in the film's favor.
We will get to know who ends up being the Sankranti winner in just a day or two.
